Thomas O’Mara and David O’Connor to be Honored on February 25

Press Release

Thomas O’Mara, President of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and David O’Connor, USEF Chief of Sport and former USEF President, will be presented with the EQUUS Foundation’s Spirit Award during a special reception on Sunday, February 25, 2024, on the Terrace of the Wanderers Club in Wellington, Florida from 6 pm to 8 pm.

The EQUUS Foundation established the Spirit Award in 2023 to honor equestrians who have significantly elevated the image and desirability of horses.

O’Mara and O’Connor were selected by the Board of Directors of the EQUUS Foundation in recognition and appreciation of their role in establishing the USEF “Social License to Operate” initiative and in raising awareness within the equestrian community that for the equestrian sport to progress and for the sport to have the acceptance of the public, the welfare of the horse must be considered paramount.

Attendance is limited.

Please RSVP on or before February 15.
